The VSTplug compressor uses a unique algorithm designed by Cytosonic, who is a very credible and innovative sound designer specialist. There wasn’t too much added and the algorithm is used with permission. There remains some extra attention required to the algorithm which gauges gain reduction; but keep in mind this compressor is designed to be your lightest on the cpu. It’s not designed to do everything. This compressor tries to avoid too much pumping resulting from bass by using a carefully made LU / dBFS hybrid filter, that does away with some of the bass that is sent to the compressor’s detection unit. This can avoid both pumping and essing and you’ll likely find this compressor to be useful in that regard. A similar free technology is the free VSTplug esquire limiter available here at the site.
